PodcastPodcast: Scraping the Barrel

Oh boy, they really did it this time. By “it” I mean completely wasted 50 minutes of their somewhat disappointing lives. After plans fell through Matt, Adam and Tom pushed through and produced a complete train wreck of a podcast. Blackburn relives his bad beat, discusses running into the King of Cincinnati, Mo Egger, in Vegas and how Twitter will eventually destroy us all.

The boys breakdown the Richmond win, what UD did well, what they did poorly — and how Tuesday night’s victory (once again) changes the expectations for the remainder of the season. They quickly delve into the regular season finale against VCU and examine whether Will Wade is, for better or worse, controlled by HAVOC.

Dyshawn Pierre will play his last game at UD Arena this weekend, what is his legacy at this moment, what will it be five years from now? This delves into Chris Wright’s impact and how quickly his time at Dayton has been brushed aside by the Archie Miller regime.

We will do better next time.

Blackburn’s obsession with Chris Wright is strange to me. It’s like he desperately wants to be correct that he wasn’t THA BEST PLAYA EVAR. Then Roberts is brought up, who had no success in the NCAA tourney. Whose senior season was ruined by Chris Wright’s injury.

Chris Wright wasn’t the best player. He was a really effective college player though, like a better Kendall Pollard. I might be the only one, but I do consider Wright’s performance against Huggins/Devin Ebanks the best performance by a Flyer over the last 20 years. So basically, everything you guys talked about didn’t resonate. But might just be me.
But I think you’re wrong for this reason: Brian Gregory was the embarrassment, never Chris Wright. The talent level is the same (perhaps recruiting is a bit down? Not sure and too lazy to check), it’s just better coached especially on the offensive end. Chris Wright would absolutely start on any Flyer team of the last 10 years, including this year’s. To say that he’s worse than Pollard or McElvene would be disingenuous.

Did Chris Wright bang one of your sisters?
Chris is one of my all time favorites!
One of the most exciting players to watch who ever wore the red and blue.
To hate Chris Wright is to hate the Dayton FLyers.
          Fuck you guys !

I never understood the Chris Wright apologists. Let’s just say I’m not mad about how Chris Wright’s career has played out.
