Donny and Thom are finally teamed with a guest as Zach Pereles, from InsideNU.com, joins the duo for an in-depth preview of the Northwestern Wildcats. D&T give props to the newly deceased Alan Thicke, quickly cover the ETSU victory and bring on special guest Archie Miller. What a coup for the boys.
The attention turns to a game many of us are looking forward to, the tilt against Northwestern at the United Center this weekend. Donny really wants to get to know Mr. Pereles better, hitting him with all types of queries about his background. Blackie wants to know if Chris Collins’ father, Doug, threw his silver medal into a lake or not. Zach breaks down the Wildcat roster and discusses the past, present and possible future of the program.
Zach’s phone rings and he answers it. The Northwestern/Chicago State game was occurring while the podcast was recording, and the Wildcats’ performance leads Pereles to readdress his prediction for the Dayton game. Blackie, who is obsessed with firing/hiring coaches, wonders what it will take for Northwestern to fire Chris Collins. Deep dish, of course, is discussed. Donny talks about the time he was briefly homeless in Evanston.
It’s Tommy’s time to produce a top five, and he keeps it topical with a list of the five worst people from the Windy City. Blackburn begs Zach to not become an activist who just happens to report on sports. Donoher turns the talk towards the journalism program at Northwestern. Mr. Pereles recounts the time he hilariously wore a Redskins t-shirt to a Native American museum in Chicago. The cast ends with some tasty yacht rock — the band Chicago…cause…see…they’re from Chicago.
Tom Blackburn is a proud U. o' D. alum. He loses faith in humanity one day at a time, but not in you, you seem like you are all kinds of alright. Charter member of the T-Man fanclub.
