A-10 Media Bazaar

Well it’s officially that time of the year again. The A-10’s Media Day was held in the fair city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania today, an opportunity for Phi Martelli to serve up some choice quotes, Derrick Kellogg to smile unabashedly while not conceding that he’s been stealing UMass’ money and to establish the upcoming season’s conference food chain.

It should come as no surprise that the Flyers and Rhode Island are practically neck and neck at the top of the league’s preseason rankings. Both clubs return a wealth of talent and experience and appear to be the clear favorites this year. For the record, VCU, Davidson and St. Bonnie round out the top five.

Preseason teams? Oh, they got ’em:

La Salle’s Jordan Price was selected to the Preseason Second Team All-Conference along with Smith (Dayton), Martin (Rhode Island), Matthews (Rhode Island) and Alie-Cox (VCU).

Davidson’s Peyton Aldridge, 2015-16 Rookie of the Year Joseph Chartouny of Fordham, Donte Clark of UMass, Richmond’s ShawnDre’ Jones and Lewis (VCU) were all named to the Preseason All-Conference Third Team.

Cooke (Dayton) and his teammate Kyle Davis, Martin (Rhode Island), Alie-Cox (VCU) and Lewis (VCU) are all on the Preseason All-Defensive Team. [/su_quote]

Frost and Nixon, Archie and Jablonski

Fearless reporter David Jablonski has been doing God’s work in the Steel City, delivering queries regarding the Arch-Baron Cup and the LOWD phenomenon that continues to set the Gem City ablaze.

Jablo published the following video, where new SLU Head Coach Travis Ford clearly attempts to diminish the importance of the ABC. A foolish endeavor indeed.

Jabs also managed to get an answer to the most important question in the Flyer webiverse, does the Head Man know about LOWD? Has it penetrated to the highest levels of the program?

Lastly, the University released pictures of UD’s updated uniform scheme.cvefp-bxyaym89wHuge improvement as far as the wordmark is concerned — it was tough to see “Dayton” on TV last season, particularly with the red and blue uniforms.

The shorts also have some sort of design on them, don’t really care.cveiwoawgaavh39So that is that. The Red & Blue game is set for this weekend, it won’t be long now.

Have your say!

You’d think after taking the shorts out of the Eastbay box they could’ve ironed them. Very mid-major of us.

I hope you are joking about these outline wordmarks being easier to see. I must be too old old for this shit because I can’t even tell any more. Either way – these new kits are only an improvement for Archie, who obviously wants to be associated with the play on the court and not the name on the jersey.

Looks like Harvard is getting credit for your work!!!! Harvard condemns lewd ‘scouting report’ by 2012 men’s soccer team BOSTON – Harvard University has condemned a sexually explicit document that members of the 2012 men’s soccer team called their “scouting report” of the women’s soccer team. In the nine-page document, which was uncovered this week by The Harvard Crimson student newspaper, a member of the men’s team rated the physical attractiveness of new recruits on the women’s team, and also included their photos and lewd comments about many of them. It was circulated online among teammates. The author, who was… Read more »
