UD, hereafter referred to as Safety School U., may have a Croatian sensation dumped on their doorsteps — left behind by the bluestockings over at Northwestern University.
Per Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune, Mislav Brzoja will not be attending Northwestern next year, as he was denied admission due to a “marginal test score”. And I suppose it must have been quite marginal, since Greenstein reported a few weeks back that Brzoja had a 4.0 GPA as a high school senior. Brzoja will instead attend Dayton.
“Marginal test score” ? That might as well be the name of Dayton’s mascot. C’mon in, you crazy kid!
Of course, there’s nothing official as of yet — no word as to whether or not Archie will go ahead and acquire Brzoja with his last remaining scholarship.
The 6’5″ shooting guard had outstanding offers from Marquette, Vanderbilt, LSU and Providence, among others.
I’m already picturing Mislav’s first day on UD’s bucolic campus: “I Mislav. I here because good school say no can come! Where can eat goulash?”
