On Crawford: He's hard to read because he never really talks to the media. I still maintain he leaves, though. He's good enough to play in the NBA, and I'd even say his game is tailor made for the league. Seeing that he's been out of high school for 4 years, his only real chance to make it is to leave after this year. How many 5th year guys do you know that have made it in the league this decade, or really ever?
There's a fine line between "tremendous upside potential" and "that's just who he's going to be". Cross that line in college and your NBA dreams are crushed.
It's also the big reason why I think Chris Wright has a higher chance of leaving than most people will admit. I kind of compare CW to JJ Hickson. People laughed when Hickson left school and was drafted by Cleveland, but the Cavs saw raw potential they could mold. And after sitting the bench for a year being molded, Hickson.has become a contributor. NBA GMs masturbate to that shit. They don't care what you can do now, they care about what they think you can do in years 3 and 4 of the rookie contract. A guy like CW going from 2 hours of work a day up to 8 can improve quite rapidly, at least in the NBA GM mindset.
I think all it would take is 3-4 NBA GMs telling CW he could be like Hickson, even if they're flat out lying, and he's gone.
@John - is it just me or is that "commercial" awkward as fuck?
@Adam: thats a phenomenal comparison with Hickson. Although Hickson certainly has a little more "street" to his game, that's probably the best comparison on Wright that I can think of.
DiSab ... very odd.
However when London says "We're all Flyers" and smiles ... I laugh
