Podcast: Flight of the Commodore

The boys are joined by yet another rather smart individual, as Tom Stephenson, from the Vandy blog Anchor of Gold, joins the podcast to discuss the upcoming tilt with Dayton. But first, a quick recap of the disappointment in Chicago this past weekend. Tom and Don discuss what went wrong (plenty) and what went right (nothing) in the Flyers’ matchup with Northwestern. Why do mediocre teams keep letting the U of D back into ballgames? We have no answer.

The discussion turns caustic as the gentlemen debate what Dayton must do to ensure they get a solid look from the tournament committee come March. 14 wins? 15 wins? Let’s just win three games in Pittsburgh. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention Morgan Miller’s Twitter fingers. The First Lady of the Gem City was all fired up and was laying straight heat on her timeline.

Tom Stephenson finally enters the fray and Donny is once again fascinated with getting to know our subject’s background. Stephenson breaks down the current Vandy season, offers his take on the Bryce Drew hire and the Kevin Stallings departure. The trio touch on the athletic culture at Vanderbilt, what the expectations are going forward and Tom S. gives us a prediction for Wednedsay night’s game. Donnie makes our guest breakdown the top five cities in the SEC, the Tweet o’ the Week is revealed and Player puts an end to the rambling.

Have your say!
