The Future is Upon Us


With Xavier and Butler officially parting ways with the A10, and Temple and Charlotte leaving shortly, the Atlantic Ten will have a completely different feel and look next season. The Overlords and Temple were two of the league’s most visible and consistent performers, and Butler brought another legitimate program to the table (the less said of Charlotte the better).

So what of the A12 next season? After a banner year that sent five teams to the NCAA tournament, more than the ACC and SEC, the league will certainly take a step back in terms of its legitimacy and reputation. Regardless, the conference will still be among the best mid-major leagues in the nation and will field multiple bids in next year’s tournament, all is not lost.

What does the horizon look like next season? My best guess, something like this:
