Kid Yuma rounds up yet another transfer from a BCS program.
Jordan Sibert, from Cincinnati, was originally recruited by Xavier, Tennessee, and Cincinnati before opting to sign with Ohio State. His rumored transfer to Dayton has been circling message boards for weeks now, so wipe that look of surprise off of your goddamn face.
Sophomore guard Jordan Sibert is expected to transfer to Dayton after completing spring-quarter classes at Ohio State, a source confirmed last night. Sibert will be released from his scholarship with the Buckeyes, perhaps as soon as this week.
Sibert languished on the Buckeyes’ bench for the second half of the past season after failing to give coach Thad Matta the perimeter scoring and defense off the bench Matta was looking for.
After shooting 30 percent from the field while averaging 15 minutes per game during the nonconference portion of the schedule, Sibert made four three-point field goals and scored a career-high 12 points in a win over Northwestern in the Big Ten opener.
Sibert was recruited by Archie Miller when Kid Yuma was on Thad Matta’s staff at OSU. If history holds, Sibert never stepped foot on campus before making his decision to enroll at UD.
Sibert averaged just over eleven minutes a game this season for the Buckeyes, scoring three points a contest.
