I’m surprised that a school which places so much emphasis on community did not look within its own community to update the University’s branding. Between current students, staff and alumni, the UD community is rich in designers, as is the greater Dayton area, and even Ohio. Rather than tapping into any of these resources within its various communities, UD leadership chose to hire a Philadelphia-based design company, for reasons which aren’t readily apparent. — Erin Degiralomo, Flyer News
Many were wondering why UD chose the Philadelphia design firm 160over90 to develop the University’s new logo.
I give you Exhibit A, Aidan Curran, Dr. Dan Curran’s youngest son — who just so happens to be employed by 160over90.

Dr. Dan knows how the bread gets buttered.
Although I’m confident Dr. Dan is more than happy to send the University’s money to his son’s design firm, it seems the people supplying that cash are less than happy with 160over90’s rendition.
