Without getting into too many details, it seems from the information we’ve heard that UD is dealing with another “Kavanaugh” situation. The bad news — Dyshawn Pierre will not be enrolled in school for at least the fall semester and the University of Dayton will suffer yet another black eye from a public relations standpoint.
The good news — the initial response may indicate that Dayton believes this situation will be resolved without criminal charges. From what has been divulged (again, this is all information gathered from the rumor mill — so take it with a grain of salt) there is an absence of physical evidence and what appears to be a very difficult evidentiary case to bring to trial. I believe if Dayton thought there were graver concerns, it would have taken a page from their Kavanaugh playbook and suspended Pierre for the entire season.
Instead, it seems that the University is wisely doing everything it can to absolve itself from further embarrassment. Although the accuser is no longer enrolled at UD, the school is learning from the recent failures at Notre Dame and Baylor, choosing to remove Pierre from all team-related activities until this situation has come to a conclusion.
There is no telling how long an investigation like this will take or if it will even be brought before a grand jury. However, it is clear from the University’s standpoint that the case will likely be resolved by the time the spring semester commences.
So yeah, we are dealing with this shit again. Go Flyers.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
