I love that we can always count on Mrs. Archie offer up her commentary on the officiating.

I think the best team won.
I think St Joe”s is the best team in the league.
I think they are very well coached.
I think they have the best player in the league.
Martelli has Archie’s number.
From the start of the season I thought St Joe’s was the class of the conference.
They beat Dayton twice this year.
I think if these two played ten times Dayton may win three games.
I like this Dayton team but they are too small on the front line to make the kind of run some people think they are capable of (final four).
Final four teams do not go 6’6″ / 6’6″ and 6’5″ across the front line.
The freshmen class is not very good.
The bench (sans Steve) is not very good.
Pollard has an injury and he’s not had a great season.
Darrel Davis has not been very good and he has regressed from last season.
Crosby is very disappointing.
Big Steve is talented but Archie has been unable to develop him to a level where he can stay in the game.
Perhaps Archie got as much out of this team as he possibly could.
The fact that they finished co-champs is a testament to his coaching abilities.

I might be overserved but how in God’s name do we let someone who grew up with their only white person interaction being Sally Struthers kill us?

Archie lost this game. Crosby played two minutes and we were outscored 7-0. Wehrli played one minute (not coinciding) and we were outscored 7-0. This is not a coincidence and they were both directly responsible for our struggles in those minutes. We’ve consistently been worse with those two on the court all season. Crosby will be a good player one day but he’s far from it now. Darrell, for all his faults, should be getting the backup PG minutes because he’ll just take it up court and initiate the offense rather than hijacking the team with rare success like Crosby does. Those two simply should not play again this season. Our bench is not great, but Steve, Darrell, and Xeyrius don’t kill you every time they take the court. Archie gives away easy and unnecessary points every time Wehrli and Crosby play.

Agree on Wherli but Darrell can’t dribble the ball…he’s not a great option at point

Darrell’s not ideal, but he still turns it over less than Crosby. Crosby’s handle is better but his decision-making is worse. It might be different if we’re facing a press, but if we’re facing a press the real solution is for Scoochie to be in. We played DD as the backup point early in the season he was fine. He’d be exposed in heavy minutes, but for the 2-4 minutes a game that Scoochie needs a break, he’s a better option. (Or just play Darrell nominally at the point but have Pollard, Pierre, or Cooke bring it up.)

Um, it’s not a requirement that one of them play. Xeyrius can handle the five far better than either of them, so he should be the option there when Pollard and Steve are in foul trouble.

I’m not sure what team you’ve been watching all year but X-man has not played the 5 spot all season. He might have come in a couple times at the end of the half or game as a defensive sub when the clock was expiring, but he has not once played the 5 in any situation where he had to play any offense at the 5 spot at all.

He played it a bit early in the season, but I know he hasn’t really since then. I think that’s the problem. Do you really think Bobby can handle the 5 better than Xeyrius can?

To Dave not sure if you really watched the game. The refs dictated the game from the tip-off similar to the Xavier game, which is very difficult for players and coaches to execute on plays and play the type of defense you want to play. Give credit to St joes for hitting big 3s and free throws. They are a great team, but please accusing Archie of being the problem is a ridiculous comment.

I did watch. The refs were bad, UD shot poorly, and St. Joes played well. So there were a lot of reasons for the loss. But those things are harder to control, whereas Archie can and should stop giving minutes to Crosby and Wehrli at any time. (I’m not claiming Archie is a bad coach, but I think continuing to give those two minutes is a pretty big mistake.)

I think Archie is depressed over not winning the Infinity Coaches Challenge. His head has not been clear since the challenge started. He and Morgan are trying to come up with a way to get more people to vote because they care about it so much.

Can someone make a video with some of these calls that made Larry Hansgen question God? Please Internet… Make this happen.
The better team won, but the Refing in the A-10 has been really poor all season.
